Fashion Editorial

I have recently decided to join an online competition on DailyFashionJobs.com. The website is launching an online magazine in January of 2012, and they want to promote upcoming artist, photographers, stylist, designers, and fashion journalist in their first issue. Those who are trying to promote their styling must create an editorial portraying certain trends for the season. Any opportunity that can give me a chance to expose my styling is definitely worth a try. I contacted a few of my friends that have model qualities or experience, and I was able to set up a shoot with them for my editorial. Sample pictures from the shoot, and updates from the competition will be posted. For inspiration, I found myself looking for editorials for this season, and found an amazing one from H by Halston. New York Fashion Week Trends.

So Fashion Week was last month, and I never got a chance to blog about it, so I'm doing it now. Of course the show was nothing less than perfect, and I'm always so jealous that I never get to go, but my time will come soon. Anyways, the show represented trends for spring 2012. The trends consisted of sporty, metallics, tropical prints, etc. Fashions by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, BCBG, Alexander Wang, etc. I chose a few photos that were my favorite, check 'em out. A Night With Art

A few weeks ago I went to the art museum in Midtown Atlanta with my friend for her project. This trip was strictly school related, but I ended up falling in love with some of the pieces. The whole vibe was definitely my style. They had a live band, horderves, a show choir, and fashion pieces. I was even more excited to see random people dressed up for such an occasion. I was not able to get pictures of the pieces that stuck out to me, because it was against the museum policy, but I did snap pictures of the band and local people dressed nicely. Take a look :)

We Found Love

Last week, Rihanna dropped her new music video of her new single off her new album, 'We found love.' I must say this has been one of her best videos considering the concept behind it. It was very raunchy, and romantic in a twisted way. I'm all for different and something daring, so I loved it. And of course the fashionista herself was rocking some amazing outfits like always. I've always considered Rihanna's sense of style more of couture, with a little street flavor, but in this video her style definitely represented street wear, with a hipster touch to it. Outfit of The Day.

Toady was a regular day in Atlanta, Georgia on Spelman's campus. I've always been known to dress up for no apparent reason in highschool, just for the heck of it. That's who I am. I guess some things never change...




My blouse was a gift from my besfriend, sewn in Nigerian material. Also wearing acid wash high waste jeans from a thrift store in Houston, Texas.



My purse is a vintage Dooney and Bourke. This is one of my favorite hand bags, you'll probably see me carrying it everywhere.





My rings and bracelets came from a Bohemian style shop. I'm also rocking some black and brown wedges from shoedazzle.

Fashion Around The AUC

I recently started attending Spelman College as a freshman this fall, and of course I've been peeping the fashion around campus and the AUC as a whole since day one. Today was one of our many social events called Hump Wednesday. I took this opportunity to snap some pictures of students that were fashionable, or stylish with their own swag. Fashion Week is Quickly Approaching!

Who's excited for New York fashion week?? Ummm, I am!!! It has always been a big dream of mine to attend the glorious raunchiness that goes on during that week. My ultimate goal is to end up actually being involved in fashion week by being one of the stylist. With God's grace, and hard work, it will happen. Can't wait to post picctures from the event.
