The album Cruel Summer dropped post summer, and once again the man Kanye West produced another master piece. Not only did this album create vicious tracks, it also inspired a lavish fashion endeavor that left his fans and fashionistas all around the world speechless in amazement. Mr. West teamed up with Guiseppe Zanotti and created a limited edition line of stilettos naming it after the album "Cruel Summer." Considering the art from the album cover, Kanye West was able to pull inspiration from those patterns and create an aura of a greek goddess draped with jewels and fabric from the royal riches of the British monarchy. Artistically articulating every detail from the slope of the heel to the sleek straps. A classic, but rare form of footwear.
H&M has done it again! This fall season the company decided to collab with another astonishing designer Maison Martin Margiela's. The pieces in this collection speak volumes for this season. Bundles of fabric creating an elegant fold for different styles of sweaters and turtlenecks, daring pattern schemes for various jackets, and countless flawless trousers. Coming across this collaboration was a pleasant and tasteful surprise and it couldn’t have come at a perfect time. Get cozy in cashmere, and check out photos of a few pieces.
Hey guys. I know I have been slacking on the posts, but I have been so busy these past few months. So much has been going on in my life, and I'm excited to tell you guys all about it. Well, another exciting semester at Spelman College has come to a close; I'm halfway done with my sophomore year! Considering that this semester was a bit more challenging academically, I was so focused on my books, that I had no time to blog. But I was able to land a fashion column with TBA Magazine. It is a local Atlanta magazine that was founded by Ain Ealy, a current Spelman student, and it is set to be sold nationally in 2013! I was so happy and proud to be able to be a part of something so great. I was also able to get an in-school internship with Newsbreak at Clark Atlanta University. I anchored, wrote scripts, worked audio, managed playback, and shot and edited my own packages. I was also one of the stylists for our Homecoming fashion show this year, which was seen by all of the city of Atlanta. I have been so blessed this semester by all the opportunities that have come my way. I have big plans for 2013. I am currently looking for internships for the spring in New York City. With God's grace, I will be successful in all my endeavors. In the mist of all the work and school I still found some time for fun engagements with my close friends and expressing myself fashionably. All semester long I have been taking pictures of me and friends around school and the city of Atlanta. Take a peek of my life over the course of these past four months :)
This year has brought so many new styles to the table, and I have to say this is one of my favorite trendy seasons. Some people reject trends; opposed to looking like everyone else. But I personally love trends! It lets me know what is going on in the fashion world. I especially love it when people put their own twist on certain things, making it their own style. That's the beauty of it, and it shows how far you can go with creativity and imagination of your own personality. Below are some of the top trends for this upcoming season. Check it out.
Patterns and loud prints have always been in, and it is taking the fashion world by storm. Play around with these shapes and colors and don't be afraid to mix and match. Be bold! Just like your clothes.
Fashion has always repeted itself but comes back in a new trendy way. Styles from the 50s through the 90s are upon us this season, and it looks like vintage will always be on the runway. And honestly, I feel like this trend will never get old.
Statement trousers are currently the way of life right now, plus snakeskin! Ladies, your legs are some of the best attributions to a women's body. Of course we love to show a little skin every once in awhile, but our legs deserve glamorous pants shielding them! When you feel your outfit needs a little.. spice, throw on those crazy print pants and let everyone know you have arrived.
BIGGER IS BETTER! This upcoming season, fashion experts have noticed that women have taken their fashion to the oversized side. Droopy blouses exposing shoulder skin, larger coats, and baggier trousers. I can personally say I am a HUGE fan of this trend. It gives women a confident tomboy persona that can give off a comfortable vibe. Whether women glam their outfits with trendy sneakers, or sophisticated pumps, it is nonetheless fashionable.
All black, and leather is something I think we will forever see in fashion. An all black outfit just screams that goth, sexy rebel, dark fashion some of us just loves! This is another one of my favorites. All black coincides with a summer night out in the city, or a cold winter day. Basically, an all black ensemble is just perfect for any event, or season.
BET held its annual award show in LA. This summer event is always an exciting one with hot performances, guest stars, amazing tributes, and fashion galore! The photographers got camera happy when they noticed Ms. Beyonce struting at the award show with a classic yellow silk dress, with a high slit to add fierceness. Accompanied with her husband Sean Carter (Jay-Z) sporting a sharp grey tailored suit with white loafers, and her newest girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. She was seated front row at the awards looking fabulous in a white long sleeve dress, with golden strappy sandal heels. The best of the best definitely showed up, and showed out. Check out a few photos of some well dressed celebrities from the event below.
