Last Saturday, the African Student Association hosted their very own showcase presenting multiple genres expressing the African culture. The extravaganza revealed dancers who gracefully performed an African step, insightful African literature recited by poets, and African clothing being ripped down the runway during a fierce and ethnic fashion show. Several Spelman fashionistas, including myself, were given the opportunity to construct the styling for the fashion portion of the show. Our collective and creative minds came together, and produced visulas that were Vogue worthy. Check out some pictures from the actual showcase below.
After a long four months of waiting, the most anticipated weekly block party has returned. This past week, Hump Wednesday made a comeback, and everybody showed up, and showed out. People transformed from sweat pants to Brooks Brothers, flip flops to Clarks, and plain shirts to Zara blouses. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, people came out from all classifications, and students from Spelman, Morehouse, and Clark attended. Hump Wednesday was an absolute festival. Check out some pictures from the event below.
Solestruck and Jeffrey Campbell has finally collaborated and put together a line of shoes that are beyond amazing! I have always been a faithful shopper at Solestruck, and Mr. Campbell has always been one of my favorite shoe designers, so this collabo is like a dream come true. The signature wooden heel, and thick platform mixed with the geniuses behind Solestruck has to be the greatest gift to every woman. The best thing about this new partnership is that they are giving away 3 pairs of shoes of the new line to whoever gets the most likes/comments on their picture that they posted on Solestruck's page on Facebook. Of course a shoe lover like myslef had to join the competition. I posted an awesome picture of my two friends, and likes/comments from any of you would be absolutely wonderful. If you are interested in helping a great girl like myslef win a pair of amazing JC's, go to Facebook, search the page 'Solestruck' and like/comment the picture I posted. Check out the photo and a couple of pictures from the new line below.
