I'm very much involved with the fashion world. I don't limit my talents to just one specific area. I model, style, sketch designs, and now even sew and create garments. Here's the steps I took to make my first official piece.
This piece of green material actually came from a dress that I cut. It was a great linen spandex type of material, so I couldn't let it go to waste
I haven't been able to get a sewing machine yet, so I decided to hand stitch the whole skirt. The process was not that long, but it was very detailed.
This is the left side of the skirt after I finshed hand stitching it. It looked a bit rough at first, but I made some minor adjustments to it, to make the stitching look nice and neat.

This blue material was also apart of the original dress, but it was used as a slit that was placed underneath the green material. This material was more solid and less stretchy.
I couldn't let this material go to waste either, so I decided to use it for a pattern I had in mind for the outer layer of the skirt.
This is the preview of the skirt, while some things were still pinned together. Instead of stitching the blue pattern onto the skirt, I used fabric glue. It made the whole apperance of the skirt much more smoother.
The second preview of the skirt.
With a couple of smoothing out and minor tweaks, this is the final product of the skirt. Dressed up with a plain black shirt that included shoulder padding (shoulder padding inserted by me). Then accessorized with a long gold chain (forever 21). Gold hoop earrings (forever 21). And an over the shoulder white purse (vintage shop) I plan to be making and sketching more garments for you guys to see :)
